STAGING FAQ'S...
Q. What
is home staging?
A. Home
Staging is the art of professionally preparing a home for
sale. Today your home is meant to satisfy you and your
family. Home Staging makes simple changes to create a style
that pleases just about everyone. Following staging your
home will appeal to the broadest possible audience.
Q. Why
can’t I stage my own home?
A. Most
home sellers do not possess the skills necessary to stage
their own home. In order to stage a home effectively, the
stager must be up to date on style trends, techniques to
economically update the home and have the creative and
marketing skills to make changes that add value. A
professional stager is trained to acquire the skills
necessary to prepare your home for the market.
Q. Can
you teach me how to stage my home?
A.
Following the initial consultation you may elect to receive
our “Top Ten” Priority Report or our Action Plan and
“Do-It-Yourself” Guides. With this information you will
have the tools necessary to complete many staging projects
in your home. Based on the home owner’s budget and the
condition of the home, this is a reasonable solution for
many home owners.
Q. I
have sold houses in the past without staging, why should I
do it now?
A. Today
one home in four is staged and statistics show that these
homes sell 50% faster than un-staged homes. In the slow
market that exists today, you owe it to yourself to make use
of all the tools available to prepare your home for the
market.
Q. How
long does it take to stage a home?
A. Every
home is different and the time varies based on the size and
condition of the home. However, it generally takes between
one and two days to stage a home.
Q. How
much does it cost to stage an occupied home?
A. The
cost for staging an occupied home varies depending on the
work required, the level of participation by the homeowner,
the need to purchase additional items, etc. The homeowner
receives a proposal after the initial reasonably priced
Consultation. At that time the total cost to stage your
home is determined.
Q. How
much does it cost to stage a vacant home?
A. For
vacant homes as well as occupied homes, costs vary depending
on the size and condition of the home. We recommend that,
at a minimum, the home owner stage the most important rooms
in the house, which typically includes the kitchen, dinning
room, living/family room, main bath, master bedroom and
bath. Staging a vacant house generally includes a staging
fee, monthly furniture rental paid directly to a furniture
rental company, a one time delivery charge and an accessory
rental fee payable to Baca Design LLC.
Q. I am
not selling my home but want to make it a better for my
family. How does staging help with my needs?
A. Even
though you may not be selling your home, home staging will
significantly refine your existing functionality and décor.
We make creative use of existing possessions through a
process that edits, organizes and repositions your
furnishings. The objective of “staging to live” is to
create beauty through the selective use and reorganization
of existing items, keeping purchases of additional furniture
and accessories to a minimum. The result is an organized
and functional setting that delights you as well as your
family and friends.
